BMW unveils R 18 Classic motorcycle

The new motorcycle, in the style of the 1936 BMW R 5, features a 2-cylinder boxer engine. The 1.8-liter engine has become the most powerful unit ever installed on a BMW motorcycle. The 91-horsepower engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The cruiser is equipped with ABS, ASC stabilization and MSR traction control, as well as several engine modes (Rain, Roll and Rock). The front suspension is made in the form of a telescopic fork, and the monoshock located under the saddle plays the role of the rear one.

The main difference between the Classic version and the base BMW R 18 is the presence of a large windshield, leather side luggage bags and a removable passenger seat. For the new motorcycle, at the start of sales, a special First Edition with rich chrome decor, as well as accessories from the BMW Motorrad branded catalog and Roland Sands Design, Vance & Hance and Mustang Seats, are offered.

Recall that the premiere of the BMW R 18, which formed the basis of the Classic version, took place in the spring of 2020.
