CSC RX1E: the electric motorcycle that wants you to forget gasoline

CSC RX1E electric motorcycle

The new CSC RX1E electric motorcycle will arrive in the United States in January 2023. It reaches 130 km/h for an advertised price of minus $8,500.

The RX1E resembles CSC Motorcycles’ RX4 and RX3 thermal motorcycles, but replaces the fuel-injected combustion engine with a liquid-cooled electric motor. Mounted in a central position, it develops a continuous power of 8 kW and a peak power of 18 kW, or 24 horsepower. According to the American brand, this electric motorcycle will go from 0 to 100 km/h in 9 seconds for a top speed of 130 km/h.

Low seat height, comfortable riding position, the CSC RX1E should easily squeeze into tight spaces. It also has a reverse function and three driving modes.

180 km range

The engine of the CSC RX1E is powered by a 6.16 kWh (96 V – 64 Ah) lithium-ion battery, the range of which is estimated at 180 km according to the manufacturer. A full recharge is supposed to take 6 hours. It sports Bosch’s dual ABS brakes and a combined braking system for safety. While many electric motorcycles use the left lever for the rear brake, the RX1E sticks to tradition by activating the rear brake with the right pedal.

Well equipped for everyday use, the RX1E has standard saddlebags and a 72-litre boot. According to CSC Motorcycles, it is “the ideal vehicle for urban commuters who can ride for pennies a mile and leave gas stations in their rearview mirror.”

The RX1E will be available Spring 2023, only in the US for now, starting at $8,495 (€8,601). It can already be reserved by paying an initial deposit of $500.
